DESCRIPTION: Scarce Nazi MARS Model 115 training air rifle. This type of rifle was used for training by many Nazi youth and para-military organizations. Externally, the rifle is similar to DSM34. In fact, some parts seem to be interchangeable with DSM34 (barrel bands, buttplate, etc.). Maker's name and the model number is stamped on the receiver: "MARS 115". The maker address is stamped on the left side of the receiver, "Venuswaffenwerk Zella-Mehlis (Germany)". The loading gate is located in the middle of the length of the barrel, in the front part of the handguard (please, see pictures). Mauser style safety lever on the back of the receiver. All steel furniture, including the buttplate. K98k style sling swivels/slots. Mauser style adjustable rear sight. Fixed front sight. The serial number is stamped on the lower part of the buttstock, just behind the trigger guard. No import markings. Complete with the clearing rod. Scarce Nazi training air rifle. CONDITION: Low excellent. 95-96% of original, blue finish remaining on metal. Occasional light peppering on the barrel and receiver. Some patina on the buttplate and bolt handle. There are some screwdriver marks on the trigger guard screws (please, see pictures). Nice stock in original finish with some handling marks, dings and light scratches. There is some wear to the wood on the left side of the forestock, just in front of the barrel band (please, see pictures). The action works fine. All the internal parts of the rifle are in fine condition, with no visible wear. All the markings and numbers on metal and wood are clearly visible. All original condition. Very nice example of the Nazi training air rifle. Serial# M3344XX.
