DESCRIPTION: Impressive, large, hinged-frame English military style revolver with simultaneous ejection. The barrel rib displays retailer's markings, "I. HOLLIS & SONS, LONDON". Many English officers privately purchased Webley Pryse type revolvers, that were considered revolvers of choice at the time. Original one-piece wooden grip with diamond checkering. English commercial proofs are present on major parts of the revolver. Single and double action. Six-chamber cylinder. Barrel length: 5.5 inches. Fixed front and rear sights. Complete with lanyard ring. CONDITION: Low fine. 65-68% of original blue finish is still present on metal. Scattered patches of patina, peppering and/or light surface rust on the barrel, frame and cylinder (please, see pictures). Some blue finish is starting to turn to brownish color. Most of the finish wear is on the hilt and lower part of the frame (from handling). The balance is in white, mixed with some brown patina. Some screw heads show screwdriver's markings. Bore is in overall low fine condition, with bright and strong rifling. The cylinder's chambers are also in fine condition. Strong action. The hardwood grip shows minor wear and some handling marks. The back/upper part of the hardwood grip shows a small hairline crack (please, see pictures). All the markings and numbers are clearly visible on metal. All the internal parts of the revolver are in very good condition, with no visible wear. All complete and in original condition. The revolver needs careful, professional cleaning. Scarce English military style large frame revolver! Antique. |

Eight round original Webley magazine. Left side of the slide is marked "Winged Bullet over W&S, Webley & Scott Ltd. London & Birmingham 9 mm Automatic Pistol". British commercial proof marks are stamped on all major parts of the pistol. Barrel length: 5 inch. Excellent quality of machining and metal finish. The pistol has original, high gloss blue finish, which is difficult to photograph. CONDITION: Fine+. 86% of original blue finish is still on metal. The finish is worn mostly on the hilt and on the sharp edges of slide and frame. Some finish is turning to brownish color. The trigger guard, trigger, extractor, hammer and magazine have original nickel plating (correct). The bore is in excellent condition, with strong rifling. Strong action. All the internal parts of the pistol are in excellent condition, with no visible wear. All the markings and numbers are clearly visible on metal. The black hardened rubber grips with diamond checkering show only very minor handling marks. No import markings. Scarce Webley M.1909 semi-automatic pistol! Serial# 1150XX. |
